Facility Walkthrough - EnQuest Energy Solutions
Transcript:
Welcome to EnQuest Houston.
While people are what make EnQuest great, our state-of-the-art facilities are what set us apart from the competition.
Our Houston campus is comprised of 2 main buildings and several smaller buildings totaling nearly 200,000 sqft under the roof on just under 20 centrally located acres with quick access to all major Houston freeways and interstate highways.
EnQuest Houston is ideally situated just south of Beltway 8 off JFK Boulevard, 5 minutes south of Bush Airport, and 20 minutes North of the Port of Houston.
EnQuest began in 2018 at 4554 Kennedy Commerce Dr on the North side of Houston, Texas.
In 2023, EnQuest expanded its footprint at the Houston campus to include the adjacent property at 4444 Kennedy Commerce Dr to deal with product line expansions into power generation, natural gas fueling, and battery energy storage.
We hope you enjoy this virtual tour but there is no substitute for seeing it in person. Please schedule a facility tour with one of our sales representatives.
The 4554 bldg is the original building where EnQuest Houston began operating in 2018. The 4554 bldg was purpose-built in 2012 specifically for building new, rebuilding, and upgrading oilfield service equipment for Enerflow Industries. The building consists of two main areas – the main aisle and the equipment bays. The main aisle contains about 20 mixed-model manufacturing cells where EnQuest assembles a variety of different products from oilfield service equipment to power generation equipment to battery energy storage. The main aisle has crane coverage of up to 20 tons. Supporting the large mixed model assembly cells are a variety of subassembly cells. The floor space is versatile and can allow for “bay” build of limited quantity or highly variable products or “flowline” type manufacturing for higher volume products.
The north-facing portion of the building is configured into 14 equipment bays where we do a lot of tear-downs and reassembly for rebuilds and upgrades of existing equipment. These bays are ideal for large-scale rebuild and upgrade projects. These bays are serviced by overhead cranes to 20 tons.
In the NE corner of the main building is our steel processing area. One thing that sets EnQuest apart is the fact that we have onsite plate-cutting and forming equipment which is ideal for speed and flexibility in the manufacturing process. Our steel processing area contains our high-definition plasma table with a 40ft bed. We also have a 250-ton break press to bend up to ½” plate as well as a couple of auto-feeding steel saws for cutting pipe, angle, channel, beam, or whatever the job requires. We process our own steel here before it is sent to our welders and fitters to weld up.
Located on the NE corner of the facility is our fabrication shop. The fab shop has 10 fabrication cells for our fitting and welding operations. The weld cells are outfitted with power, central welding gas, and shop air. We also have crane coverage up to 10 tons.
Our Test facility is located on the SE corner of the campus. Our test facility is separated into two areas – one for testing oilfield service equipment at pressures up to 15000 psi and one area for power generation and battery energy storage equipment rated up to 13.8KVA. Each area has its own test building for safely operating the operating and monitoring equipment for our testing personnel and our customers. Our testing infrastructure includes water, water circulating and cooling systems, remotely controlled chokes, diesel and natural gas conditioning and fueling, load banks, and switchgear.
At EnQuest we deal with a lot of equipment that comes straight out of the field. It might have caked on dirt and covered in grease or oil. Prior to painting or rebuilding a unit we receive from the field, we have to strip it down and pressure wash it in our industrial wash bay. We collect all the wastewater and put it through our wastewater recycler and separate the oil and contaminants out of the water so the recycled water may be used again.
On the south side of the 4554 building are 2 large paint shops. The largest of which is 90 ft x 20 ft and the smaller of which is 60 ft x 20 ft. Both booths have heat and air makeup for year-round painting.
This is our blast booth. It is one of the largest blast booths on the Gulf Coast. Our booth is 30ft wide by 90ft long and has 4 individual blast units so that we can blast a bunch of small parts or one or two very large parts. The blast booth is outfitted with automatic blast material recycling. We can sweep the used blast material into the collection system on the floor and then collect, separate, and distribute it back into the hoppers so the blast material can be reused multiple times. This building also houses two drive-in bays that are 50ft long by about 20ft wide so we can bring in equipment both large and small. The prep area is used for masking, taping, and surface preparation prior to painting.
We also have a bay door accessed electrical clean room within the 4554 building. The clean room is climate-controlled. The room is used for assembling and testing controls and instrumentation, sensitive electronics, and building wiring harnesses.
4444 Building: This is our newest addition. EnQuest opened the doors to the new building at 4444 Kennedy Commerce Dr in early 2023.
The new EnQuest warehouse area is located within the 4444 bldg. The warehouse covers nearly 20,000 square feet, with floor-to-ceiling racks and small parts bins to handle all our critical parts inventory. Weather-resistant inventory is stored outside to maximize the amount of on-campus warehousing.
To support the warehouse and our manufacturing operations, the 4444 building also houses all of our shipping and receiving for the entire campus. All of the material that comes in or goes out of this building comes right through this area.
The main aisle of the 4444 Manufacturing building contains 10 mixed-model manufacturing cells. The mixed model cells can handle a variety of products with overhead crane coverage to 20 tons. One unique feature of the 4444 Building is it is climate-controlled so if we have products that need to be manufactured free of dust, heat, or humidity the 4444 building can allow for that.
The 4444 bldg also has a 550 sqft controlled paint booth, increasing our capacity for in-house painting activities.
Thank you for taking this virtual tour of the Enquest Energy Solutions Houston facility. We hope to see you in person soon.
