The Website Assessment & Execution Strategy
You might be here because you think your website needs a "facelift." Maybe it looks dated, or maybe it just doesn't reflect the company you are today.
But in our experience, a cosmetic update rarely solves the actual problem. If your website isn’t generating leads, if it isn’t visible to search engines (and the new wave of AI search tools), and if it doesn’t accurately represent your technical expertise to buyers, a coat of paint won’t fix it.
You need a plan before you build. You wouldn't break ground on a facility without a blueprint. We don't build websites without one, either.
What The Assessment Is
The Website Assessment is a paid, three-week diagnostic and planning engagement. It is designed to reduce risk.
Most website projects fail or go over budget because the "strategy" happens during the build. We separate them. By investing in a standalone Assessment, you get a comprehensive Website Blueprint—a build plan that includes architecture, design direction, content strategy, and platform recommendations.
You own every deliverable. At the end of these three weeks, you have a complete plan. You can hire us to execute it, manage it internally, or take it to another developer. The strategy is yours.
The Three-Week Schedule
We move fast. This isn't a months-long theoretical exercise; it's a practical sprint to get you ready for execution.
Week 1: The Foundation (Who You Are & Who You Serve)
We don't start with colors and fonts. We start with business fundamentals.
Audience Segment Profiles: We move beyond generic "industrial" labels. We profile your actual buyers—what are their pain points? How do they make purchasing decisions?
Product/Service Catalog: We document exactly what you sell and, more importantly, your differentiation. This informs the site structure.
Business Fundamentals: We dig into your sales process and tech stack to ensure the website actually supports your operations.
Week 2: The Market & Design Direction (How You Win)
Here we combine market research with design strategy.
Search & AI Research: We map the search landscape. How do people search for your solution? How do AI platforms (like ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews, Gemini) view your industry? We plan content for both human audiences and these crawlers.
Information Architecture: We determine the Sitemap and core website structure.
Design Direction: We present mood boards, inspirations, and platform considerations (CMS) to align on the "look and feel" so we can hit the ground running during the build process.
Week 3: The Website Blueprint (The Build Plan)
This is the delivery of the master plan.
Technical Recommendations: We recommend the right platform for your needs (WordPress, HubSpot, etc.) and necessary integrations (CRM, ERP). We are platform-agnostic; we recommend what works for your business, not what is easiest for us.
Content Plan: A map of content for the Core Website (have-to-haves) demonstrating your experience and expertise, and ongoing content (nice-to-haves) to drive ongoing search visibility and content freshness.
The Build Roadmap: A detailed Scope of Work for the build phase, including timeline, budget, and launch strategy.
The Deliverables
When the Assessment is done, you walk away with:
The Foundation: Persistent documentation of your brand voice, audience segments, and competitive differentiation.
The Blueprint: A master plan including the sitemap, technical stack, content plan, and visual strategy.
The Build Proposal: A fixed-cost proposal to execute the plan we just created.
Logistics & Investment
Cost: $3,500 flat fee.
Timeline: Approximately 3 weeks.
Your Commitment: Low friction. We need 2 to 3 one-hour video meetings and your review and edits of the materials on Google Docs. We do the heavy lifting; you validate the accuracy.
Why We Charge for Strategy
We don’t give away strategy to win builds. We charge for this Assessment because it protects you from a "bad build."
Risk Reduction: We define the scope, the platform, and the content requirements before you sign a large development contract. This prevents expensive mid-project pivots.
Cost Efficiency: It is the "measure twice, cut once" principle. Thorough planning makes the actual build faster and cheaper.
Mutual Evaluation: This is a low-risk way for you to test our work, communication, and process before making a larger commitment.
How to Start
The process begins with a conversation. (You might call it a "Smell Test.")
We’ll have an initial call to evaluate mutual fit.
If we agree that we can help you lower your cost of growth, we’ll draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This document captures your business goals and ensures we aren't guessing.
Once the MOU is signed and the deposit is processed, we schedule your Assessment.
