4.  Metadata and alt tags

When designing a website, the code is important for SEO. Your pages have a space between the <head> tags for metadata, which is information about everything on your page. This includes title metadata (responsible for page titles that show up on the top of your browser window), description metadata (the description a browser uses in page search return) and keyword metadata (the search phrases people use to find your page). You also need to use alt tags, which describe images and videos on the page in text. This is good for those that use text-only browsers, but most importantly search engines use them to find your page.
